Obituary of Harold Kelly

The passing of Harold J. Kelly of Fredericton, formerly of Stanley, NB, husband of Velma (Harrison) Kelly occurred on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Chipman Memorial Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on August 5, 1926 he was a son of the late Arthur and Mabel (Jarvis) Kelly. He received his early education in St. Croix and McAdam High School. Harold was an electrician by trade working throughout New Brunswick and Ontario, retiring from Ontario Hydro in 1984. For several years he also worked for Dept. of Fisheries. He was Anglican by faith and was active within his community. Harold was a member of the Nashwaak Curling Club, Landmark Lodge #51 of Boiestown and a former Shriner. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Harold is survived by his brother, Edgar Barry of St. Croix, NB; brother-in-law, Earle Harrison (Noreen) of Fredericton, NB; nieces, Debbie Blauvelt (Frank), Donna Shelley (David) both of Yarmouth, NS, Darlene Stanley (Steven) of Darlings Island, NB, Kelly Norrad (Byng) of Cartier, ON; nephews, Donald Harrison (Lisa) of Fredericton, NB, Marshal Barry and Randy Barry both of North Carolina, Steven Barry of Calgary, AB; cousins, Jeanne Matthews (Weldon) of Wickham, NB, Alan Gould (Pam) of Ottawa, ON, Ted Gould (Marilyn) of Montreal, QC, Madeleine Reynard (Peter) of England, Cedric Jarvis (Susan) of Australia; many grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 1 pm with Father David Mercer officiating. Interment will take place in St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
