Obituary of Milford Stickles

The passing of Milford George Stickles of Fredericton, NB, husband of Mavis Jean Stickles occurred on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 28, 1918 in Woodlands, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and Kate (Treadwell) Stickles. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, Fredericton, NB. In addition to his wife, Milford is survived by his children, Evelyn Fox of Fredericton, NB, John (Hattie) Stickles of Fredericton, NB, Dorothy (Larry) Stickles of Calgary, AB and Cathy (Chuck) Madott of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Adam (Robyn) Stickles, Nathan (Suellen) Stickles and Shawn Murphy; great grandchildren, Abigail, Campbell and Gavin Stickles; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Verna McLean and brothers, Stanley and Willis Stickles; granddaughter, Natalie Fox; son-in-law, John Fox. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 6-9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday at 6 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. A Public Graveside Service will take place at Woodlands Cemetery on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 2 pm with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating.
