Obituary of Bird Palmer

The passing of Bird Ruth (Smith) Palmer of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Norris Palmer, occurred on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 24, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Ruth (Briggs) Smith. Bird is survived by her daughter, Terri Moore (Paul) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Paige Moore (Richard Fagan), Cole Moore, Matthew Palmer (Laura) and Jillian Johnston (Kevin); great grandchildren, Emma and Tyson Johnston, Malachi, Jack and Charlotte Palmer; siblings, Mike Smith (Corie), Craig Smith (Victoria), Russell Smith (Pat), Wendell Smith (Marie), Sharon Gallup (Robert), Gail Hart (Robert), Carol Burtt (Gordon), Sabra LaFrance (Eldon) and Sadie Miner (Cecil); sister-in-law, Barb Smith; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Bird was predeceased by a son, Marty Palmer and brothers, Dwight, Reid and Farrell Smith. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Matthew Palmer officiating. Interment will take place in Dayton Cemetery.
