Obituary of Ellen Christian

The peaceful passing of Ellen Yvonne “Bonnie” (Mersereau) Christian of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Robert “Bob” Christian occurred on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 1, 1928 in Beaverdam, NB, she was the elder daughter of the late Donald and Blanche (O’Leary) Mersereau. Bonnie’s passion was people. She was a registered nurse, working both in hospital and homecare in Ontario, New Brunswick and Quebec. Bonnie was an active volunteer in her community; she was involved with various church parishes, York Care Centre, Community Kitchen and Meals on Wheels to name but a few. Bonnie is survived by her children, Clint Christian (Christie) of Rochester Hills, MI, Brenda Bouchard (Bob) of Blind River, ON and John Christian (Niki) of St. John’s, NL; grandchildren, Jillian Maki (Mark), Miranda Bouchard, Leigha Bice (Nino), Jessica Bouchard and Daniel Christian; great grandchildren, Max Bice and Jack Maki; siblings, Darrell “Mush” Mersereau of Fredericton Junction, NB and Reta Bunbury of Ottawa, ON; nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service will take place at Christ Church (Parish) Church on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11:30 am with Rev. Anthony Kwaw, Archdeacon John T. Sharpe and Deacon Joyce Perry officiating. Interment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Beaverdam, NB.
