Obituary of Joan O'Hara

The passing of Joan O’Hara of Stanley, NB, wife of Patrick O’Hara occurred on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 29, 1950 in Stanley, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ian and Annabelle (Hay) Fullarton. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Stanley, NB and the Nashwaak Harmony singing group. She was the Office Manager of Stanley Mutual for over 30 years. Joan loved her grandchildren, enjoying everything that they did including hockey, baseball, singing, dancing and playing cards. In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her son, Timothy (Michelle) O’Hara of Taymouth, NB; grandchildren, Riley, Zachary and Chloe; sisters, Mabel Dorcas of Stanley, NB and Winnifred (Ralph) Mallock of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Reginald (Jessie), Ronald (Margaret) and Martin (Maxine) Fullarton all of Stanley, NB and William (Betty) Fullarton of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Vern Fullarton. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Stanley, NB on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 11 am with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service are Trent, Kim, Derwin and Allison Fullarton, Trevor Mallock, Andy, Kent and Nick Dorcas. A Family Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
