Obituary of James Lockerbie
The passing of James “Vic” Lockerbie, husband of the late Jean Lockerbie, of Fredericton, occurred on June 14, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 24, 1923 in Kouchibouguac, NB, he was a son of the late James and Florance (Tweedie) Lockerbie. He was a Veteran of WWII with the Royal Canadian Dragoons. Victor was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 and a past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #30, Richibucto, NB. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, telling jokes, socializing with his “Happy Gang” and had a great sense of humor.
Victor is survived by one son, John (Brenda) of Fredericton, NB; granddaughter, Vicki Parker; great grandson, Zachary; brother, Arthur (Meeta) Lockerbie. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his grandson, Ryan Lockerbie.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Monday at 6:30 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. A Private Family Service will be take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place in Knox Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kouchibouguac, NB.
