Obituary of Anita Colford
The passing of Anita Theresa Colford, of Doaktown, wife of the late Philip Colford, occurred on May 20, 2011 at Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born on March 4, 1929 in Neguac, NB, she was a daughter of the late John and Emily (Mallais) Plourde. Anita was a member of Our Lady of The Annunciation Church. She is survived by 10 daughters, Shirley (William) Kervin of Blissfield, Paulette (Bruce) Cunningham of BC, Muriel (Ken) Pears of BC, Patsy (Gary) Colford of Upper Blackville, Pauline (Fred) Pratt of Fredericton, Dianne Hubbard of Doaktown, Carolyn (Doug) Connors of Weaversiding, Susan (Patrick) Munn of Ludlow, NB, Norma (Grant) Green of Blissfield and Debbie (Coby) Jardine of Blackville; three sons, David Colford, Harry (Kathy) Colford and Mervyn Colford all of Weaversiding; 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Margie and infant Alexandria; three brothers, Emery, Hubert and infant Ernest. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon on Monday, May 23, 2011 from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held from Our Lady of the Annunciation Church on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 12 pm with Father Joseph Okoko as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be Bob Fitzsimmons, Michael Furlong, Bill Johnston, Donald Kervin, Willis Storey and Dwayne Colford. Interment will take place at Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
