Obituary of Jennie Hovey

We are saddened to announce the passing of our wonderful sister, Jennie, on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born March 3, 1938, in Porter Cove, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Grace (Long) Hovey of Ludlow, NB. Although born disabled, she was such a blessing to her family, as well as the residents and staff of York Care Centre. She knew them all by name and touched each person that she met. Jennie loved doing jigsaw puzzles, and in her early years, did sewing, quilting and enjoyed helping her “Mom” cook dinners. Jennie is survived by two brothers and four sisters, Vimy (Joyce) Hovey of Arizona, USA, Jimmy Lloyd (Jane) Hovey of Saint John, NB, Betty Ann Chase of St. Catherines, ON, Alice (Lloyd) Pond of Boiestown, NB, Linda Brooks (Darryl) of Fredericton, NB and Susan Hovey (Darcy) of Prince George, BC; also survived by 12 nieces and nephews and several cousins. A Private Graveside Service will take place in Ludlow United Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
