Obituary of Richard Fowler
The passing of Richard “Dick” Harding Fowler, husband of Hazel Fowler of Bloomfield Ridge, NB occurred on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born in Holtville, NB on June 13, 1931, Dick was the son of the late William and Estelle (MacKay) Fowler. He was a scaler for over five decades in the forestry industry; he also enjoyed working as a guide, hunting, fishing and watching baseball as an avid Blue Jays fan. Dick was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Dick is survived by two sons, Richard “Rick” Fowler (Theresa) of Presque Isle, ME and Ronald “Ron” Fowler of Fredericton, NB; one daughter, Lorraine Fowler (Chris Hawkes) of Saskatoon, SK; five granddaughters, Megan, Mallory, Madison, Marissa and Mirabelle; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Dick was predeceased by four brothers, Russell, Robert, Burke and Willard; two sisters, Margaret and Helen. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church, Boiestown, NB, 6124, Route 8 on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11 am with Father Joseph Okoko as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joachim’s Church Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation, St. Joachim’s Alter Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
