Obituary of Blanche Underhill

The passing of Blanche E. Catherine Underhill of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Dick Underhill, occurred on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 28, 1921 in Blissfield, NB, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Bowes) Hennessy. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a past member of the St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Ladies Society. Blanche was a bingo player and an avid Blue Jays Fan, she loved sports in general. Blanche is survived by her children, Ben Underhill (Madeline), Marg Flinn (Duane), Jim Underhill (Lynn), Ann Boies, Mary Estabrooks (Ken), Susan Underhill and Alan Underhill (Heather); 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; brother, Frank Hennessy (Heloise); several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Bergin, Josephine Hennessy and Minnie Porter; brothers, Adrian, Harold, James, John and Allison Hennessy. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11am with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date.
