Obituary of Greta Thomas

The passing of Greta Mildred Thomas, of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Roy Thomas, occurred on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on January 15, 1932, Greta was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Thomas) Wilkins. Greta worked in housekeeping at the Victoria Public Hospital for 20 years and then the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for another 20 years. She was a member of Sunset Church. Greta is survived by her son, Stephen Thomas (Rosemary) of Fredericton; two daughters, Mary Crawford (Murray) of Estey’s Bridge, Darlene Roulston (Wayne) of Fredericton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Agnew (Jim) of Fredericton; brother-in-law, Harold King of Hainesville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Greta was predeceased by grandson, David Crawford, sisters, Julia Clowater, Ethel King, Maggie Painter, Ellen Stickles and Hilda Pellerine; brother, Garnet Wilkins and infant brother, Archibald. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Sunset Church on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 2 pm with Pastor Richard Bragdon officiating. Interment will be in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Tay Creek at a later date. Pallbearers will be Donnie Stickles, James Clowater, Larry King, Bobby Wilkins, Mark McGeehan and Kevin Scott.
