Obituary of Kenneth Cole
The passing of Kenneth Harold Cole, of Fredericton, NB, loving husband of Jean Cole, occurred on Saturday, July 09, 2011 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on November 14, 1933, he was a son of the late Herbert and Winnifred (Thomas) Cole. Kenneth was a member of Nashwaaksis United Church. He was the founding member of the New Brunswick Guild of Dispensing Opticians, Round Dance Leaders of New Brunswick, Capital City Rounders as well as their first dance leader. Kenneth was also a member of the Shoot’n Stars Square Dance Club and the Elm Tree Squares. He enjoyed golfing and woodworking (Senior’s Workshop). Kenneth’s main pastime was in the Chet Atkins Method of Finger Style Guitar. He was a devoted husband and father.
In addition to his wife, Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Lorna Jeffrey (Brian) of London, ON, Dawn Corbett (Laurie) of Wuhrs Beach, NB, Kathleen Birch (Jim) of Fredericton, NB, and Valerie Cole (Rick Seys) of London, ON; grandchildren, Heather Murray, Kendra Wojcik, Patrick and Jared Lahaie, Christina Schneider, Erin Hache and Alex Staples; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Cole (Theresa), Michael Cole (Nancy) and Gordon Cole (Marie) all of Fredericton, NB, Gerald Cole and Albert Cole (Beatrice) both of Brampton, ON; sister-in-law, Hazel Cole of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his daughter, Debra Ann and brothers, Ronald, Charles and Howard Cole.
There will be no visitation by request of the family. A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev.
