Obituary of Elaine Vroom

It is with great sadness that the family of Elaine Jeanette Vroom, wife of Brian Vroom, announce her passing on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born June 5, 1951 at Sussex General Hospital, Sussex, NB, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Lilly (Mott) Barnes of MacDonald’s Point, NB. Elaine was a graduate from Belleisle Regional High School and the Atlantic Business College. Elaine was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, painting, knitting, reading, visiting Grand Manan Island and listening to Rod Stewart. In addition to her husband and parents Elaine is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Jason) Withrow of Halifax, NS; son, Wade (Karen) Vroom of Toronto, ON; brother, Randy (Betty) Barnes of MacDonald’s Point, NB; two grandchildren, Erika and Tyler; two nieces, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton NB on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service to be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 11 am with Rev. Laurie Fenerty officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Kevin Boyd, Rick Bujold, Paul Clark, Fred O’Donnell, Chris Rickard and Randy Withrow. A family interment will take place in the Sunny Bank Cemetery. Family flowers only. For those who wish, remembrances in Elaine’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Stan Cassidy Foundation.
