Obituary of Leslie Gavin
The family of Leslie (Seigel) Gavin (1960-2011) sadly announces her death on August 13, 2011 in Fredericton, NB. Leslie is survived by her husband of 28 years, Bradley Gavin and her daughter, Amber (Gavin) Jappert of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her parents Shirley and Morris Seigel of London, Ontario, her three brothers; Stewart, Jeff and Gary as well as her in-laws, Phyllis and Cal Gavin of Thunder Bay. At the time of her death, Leslie was Director of Marketing and Business Development at the Fredericton International Airport.
Leslie was raised in Ontario and began her professional career with airports at Calgary where she was first employed by Transport Canada. She later worked for the airport authority in that city where she specialized in marketing and air service development. She was the Manager of Air Service Development for the Calgary International Airport for nearly ten years. Before coming to Fredericton, she had held the position of Director of Passenger Air Service Development at the Winnipeg International Airport for five years.
Leslie was recognized for her knowledge and experience in the airport business and had participated in many regional, national and international committees related to marketing and air service development. She was capable and passionate about her work.
Leslie was devoted to her family. She loved nature and all manner of outdoor activities and was looking forward to enjoying all the benefits of Maritime living. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. A Memorial Service will be held in Ontario at a later date. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
