Obituary of Archie Porter

The passing of Archibald “Archie” Leland Porter of Fredericton, NB, husband of Glenna (Arbeau) Porter occurred on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 20, 1946 in Doaktown, NB, he was the son of the late Gerald and Anita (Doak) Porter. Archie did many jobs at Russell and Swim Sawmill before retiring in 1998. In addition to his wife, Archie is survived by his daughters, Daphne Porter (Allan Olmstead) of Kingsley, NB, Jackie Porter (Michel Olmstead) of Doaktown, NB and Twyla (Eric) Wall of Doaktown, NB; eleven grandchildren and step grandchildren; sister, Anna Morehouse (Robert) of Doaktown, NB; brothers, James (Valerie) and Myles (Angela) all of Doaktown, NB; sister-in-law, Mary Porter of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David Porter. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. J. A. Treese officiating. Interment will take place in St. Andrew’s Anglican Cemetery, Doaktown, NB. Family flowers only please, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
