Obituary of Russell Gourley
The passing of Russell Elmo Gourley, husband of the late Clara (Peacock) Gourley, of McLeod Hill, occurred on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 10, 1919 in North Devon, he was a son of the late Clarence and Bessie (Gibbons) Gourley. Russell was a self employed truck driver and farmer.
Russell is survived by his daughters, Carol (Dana) Boyd of McLeod Hill and Juanita (Jeff) Boyd of Royal Road; son, Wayne (Helen) of Fredericton; daughter-in-law, Donna Gourley of Fredericton; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, Dale Gourley; sisters, Elsie Spinny and Thelma Burrell and brother, Ford Gourley.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 2 pm with Pastor Pat McAloon officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Wayne, Kevin and Brent Gourley, Jeremy McLeod, Jeremy McGlinchey and Billy Randall. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
