Obituary of Shirley Willis
The passing of Shirley Mae Willis of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on March 18, 1930 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Jarvis and Alice (Hamm) Barton. She worked as a Payroll Clerk at Zellers. Shirley was a member of the Elks Club “Royal Purple Ladies” and was a volunteer at the Magaguadavic Lake “Elks Deaf Camp”. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Jill (Carl) Pond and Kathy Willis; sons, Tony (Jennifer) Barton and Jamie (Shelley) Willis all of Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren, Christilena, Nicole, Rebecca and Cassidy Barton, Kaitlyn and Molly Willis, Mackenzie Pond, Melissa (Karl) Willis Cormier and Emily (Josh) Malanka; three great grandchildren, Kobie, Connor and Tyson Cormier; sister, Reta (John) Hunter of Ontario; three nieces, Amy, Angela and Carrie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Austin Willis. Although there will be no visitation; a memorial service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11 am with Rev. Peter Thomas officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
