Obituary of James Hay
The passing of James Eugene Hay, husband of Kathryn (Kydd) Hay, occurred on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at his home in Keswick Ridge, NB. Born on April 3, 1944 in Bath, NB, he was the son of Margaret (Giberson) and the late Eugene Hay. James worked at the St. Anne Nackawic Pulp and Paper Mill for 31 years retiring in 1999 as the Supervisor of Maintenance. He was a member of the Keswick Ridge United Church Men’s Group, Masonic Lodge in Nackawic and the Shriners; he believed to have a good neighbor was to be a good neighbor.
In addition to his wife and mother, James is survived by three children, Chris Hay (Mylene), Gina Hay and Karen Anne Hay-Giberson (Stefan); grandchildren, Austin, and Bradley Drost, Isabella and Jacob Lavoie; several stepchildren and step grandchildren; siblings, Margie Dixon (Dale), Keith Rick Hay (Lynn Baker), Judy Kimball (Derrell), Matthew “Buck” Hay (Vivian); special cousin, Kristi Dutra (Johnny); several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, James was predeceased by his second wife, Mary (Wasson) Hay.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from the Keswick Ridge United Church on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1 pm with Rev. Mary Tingley officiating and Rev. Dr. Amos Adeniyi assisting. Honourary Pallbearers will be Glyn Norman, Kendall Everett, Carl Sheppard, Dave McAleenan, Gerard Beaulieu and Luke Hay. Interment will be in Bristol Community Cemetery, Bristol, NB.
