Obituary of Ella Dorcas

The passing of Ella “Marguarita” Dorcas, wife of the late Russell Dorcas, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on November 29, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 22, 1916 in Taymouth, NB, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Millie (Foreman) Young. Marguarita graduated from the Provincial Normal School as a Teacher. She taught for many years and later worked with Hall’s Book Store. She was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church. Marguarita is survived by her sister, Phyllis Burpee of of Fredericton, NB; brother, Dr. Murray Young of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Rhoda Sandberg, Grace Bawn and Jean Burden; brothers, Mullan and Guy Young. A Memorial Service will take place at Gibson Memorial Church on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 11 am with Rev. Cora Krommhenhoek officiating. Interment will take place in Taymouth Community Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and would be appreciated by the family.
