John was a Twin Otter Captain for Kenn Borek Air of Calgary, AB. He embraced the challenging work of flying in the Arctic and Antartic and loved every minute of the 15 years he spent working as a Commercial Pilot. John’s greatest joys in life were; being Dad, making new friends, flying to new places, hunting and fishing. He excelled at everything he did. His friends spoke of his kindness, integrity and sense of humour. His former flight instructors, employers and co-pilots spoke of his uncanny, natural ability to fly.
At eighteen, John said, " I don't want to be one of those people who lives a life of 'quiet desperation'." He found his niche in life and lived it to the fullest. He was born to fly!
