Obituary of Alfred Gadd
The passing of Alfred “Skip” Gadd, of Oromocto, NB, husband of Karen (Ross) Gadd, occurred on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 15, 1943 in New Waterford - Cape Breton, NS, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mabel Gadd. Alfred was in the Military from 1960 – 1993, serving in various places. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 93, Oromocto. He enjoyed golfing at “The Gage” and coffee with the boys.
Besides his wife, Alfred is survived by his sons, Chris and Troy; siblings, Llewellyn “Skip” (Marg), Isabella (Bill) Burns, Ossie Gadd and Mabel Pavlish (Frank) all of Ontario; several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Beatrice MacDonald, Minnie (Mark) Hulme and sister-in-law, Muriel Gadd.
Although there will be no visitation, a Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Beverly Daley officiating. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 93, Oromocto are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 2 pm for a Legion Tribute Service.
