Obituary of Maizie Olsen
It is with deep sadness, that the family of Maizie Carmen Olsen announces her sudden passing, at her home on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Born on July 23, 1931 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Zellan and Jennie (Elder) Bunker.
Maizie is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Donald Olsen; beloved sons, Jim (Annette) and Gary (Sheila); her grandchildren, Daniel (Beckie), Blair (Chris), Dustin (Jodie), Johanna (Brad) and Patrick (Leah); her beautiful great grandchildren, Rowan, Ava, Thomas and Harper. Maizie is also survived by her sister, Frances Gammon (Glayne); brother, Fraser Bunker (Diane); many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Maizie was predeceased by her sisters, Annie Gill (Ralph) and Gertie Ball (Bud); brothers, Phillip Bunker, Fred Bunker, Harry Bunker and Murray Bunker.
Maizie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be sorrowfully missed by anyone who ever had the pleasure to be in the company of such a lovely lady.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Norman Whitney officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room. A Private Family Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
