Obituary of Floyd Goodwin
The death of Floyd Ellsworth Goodwin, husband of Roxanna (Sturgeon) Goodwin, occurred on Friday February 24, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 26, 1922, he was the son of the late Sylas and Beatrice (McCabe) Goodwin. Floyd was a veteran of WWII and worked as a mechanic for many years. He enjoyed stock car racing, was a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan, loved music and most of all loved his family.
In addition to his wife, Floyd is survived by his children, Albert Sturgeon (Theresa) of Doaktown, NB, Marshall Goodwin (Barb), Beatrice Crossman, Fred Goodwin (Colleen), Doreen Goodwin (Norman), John Goodwin (Judy), Theresa Goodwin (Dave) all of Fredericton, NB, Derek Goodwin (Debra) of Renous, NB; 27 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and his special buddy, Zach. Besides his parents, Floyd was predeceased by two infant sons, Sylas and Reginald; several brothers and sisters; two grandsons, Dexter and Nicholas Goodwin.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive. Fredericton, NB on Monday, February 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 2pm with Father Mark Trzop officiating. Interment will take place in Saint Bridgets Roman Catholic Cemetery, Renous, NB at a later date.
