Obituary of Ernestine Hayes
The passing of Ernestine Marie Hayes, of Williamsburg, NB, wife of the late Richard Hayes, occurred on February 20, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 9, 1941 in Lorne, NB, she was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Mallaley) Carrier. Ernestine was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed scenic drives, the outdoors and spending time with her family.
Ernestine is survived by her daughters, Patricia Walton (Clifford) of Lincoln, NB, Agnes Hayes (Timmy) of Williamsburg, NB and Opal Paul (Mark) of Fredericton, NB; her sons, Jerry (Sherri) of Red Deer, AB, Perry (Melissa) of Havlock, NB, Joey of Saint John, NB and John Hayes (Lacey) of Fredericton, NB; eight grandchildren, Misty, Shannon, Kyle, Chantille, Chrissy, Clint, Danny and Joleen; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Mona Corrier of Lorne, NB, Shirley O’Brien of Royal Road, NB and Eva Lavigne (Nelson) of Lincoln, NB; brother, Leon Carrier of Durham Bridge, NB; several nieces and nephews; special friend and companion, Murray Palmer and dear friend, Vivian Henderson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Joshua; sister, Carmella Comeau; brothers, Raymond, Preston, Howard and Stuart Carrier.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Mowry officiating. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the New Brunswick Lung Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
