Obituary of Dora Lyons

The passing of Dora Isabelle (Price) Lyons, previously of Carroll’s Crossing, NB, wife of the late R. W. Elwood Lyons, occurred on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 17, 1926 in McNamee, NB, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Minnie (Murphy) Price. Dora was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Carroll’s Crossing, NB. A gentle and kind woman, much beloved by her family, Dora enjoyed reading, cooking, listening to music and spending time with her family. Dora is survived by her daughters, Judy Morehouse (Winston) of Boiestown, NB, Marilyn E. Price (Kevin Lyons) of Doaktown, NB, Elizabeth Cavanaugh of Fredericton, NB and Sharon Biddiscombe (Perry) of Victoria, BC; one son, Douglas E. Lyons of Fredericton, NB; seven grandchildren, Kelly Moir (Peter), Terri Ann Price (David Morrison), Michael Wilson (Jayne), Jerry Price (Stacey Munn), Alex Biddiscombe (Chelsea Thompson), Melanie Martell (TJ) and Matthew Cavanaugh; six great grandchildren, Christopher Moir (Kerry), Chad Moir (Samantha), Noah, Ryan and Kyle Wilson and Brooke Lynch; three great-great grandchildren, Kayden, Halle and Addison Moir; one brother, Douglas H. Price (Gertrude) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Dora was predeceased by her sister, Georgia Price; her brother, Richard G. Price (Amy); two step-sisters, Ada Porter and Margaret Brown; four step-brothers, Walter, Cecil, Lester and Wilbur Long; and son-in-law, Hartley Price. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Doaktown, NB on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Interment will take place in St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery in Carroll’s Crossing at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made the Anglican Parish of Ludlow and Blissfield; New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Central NB Nursing Home.
