1915-2012
It is with great sadness the family of Helen Marguerite (Scott) (Hazlett) Bubar wishes to announce her peaceful passing at the York Care Centre on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She is now forever with her Lord in heaven. Left to cherish their mother’s life is her caring, loving daughter and best friend, Allie-Lou Sullivan, her devoted son and faithful daughter-in-law, Beverly and Darlene Hazlett. Helen is survived by several grand children, great-grand children, four great-great grand children and several nephews. Predeceased by her husband’s, Sterling Hazlett, SR. and James Bubar, by her five sons, Sterling (Junior) JR., Wade, Daniel, Wayne (Andy), William, one daughter, Doris and grand-son Sterling Eric.
Helen was born in Saint John and her childhood years were spent growing up in Forest Hill, living her entire adult life in Nashwaaksis, where she and Sterling SR. raised their family. Her family was her passion. Helen was a very hard working woman at home and outside the home. Being a great provider, she put her hand to numerous tasks, cooking meals for many and happiest when family and company were present. Her home was filled with love, laughter, caring and warmth.
Helen possessed a kind and gentle spirit that was felt by all who knew her. She practiced a strong and joyful faith which she passed down through the generations in her family.
Following cremation, visitation will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 12:30-1:30 pm followed by a memorial service at 2 pm with Rev. Lloyd Pangburn officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Room. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Atrium Unit and Tower 2 of the York Care Centre and Dr Kerr for their professionalism, respect and kindness Helen received during her lengthy stay at the Manor. Thank you to Pastor Thomas for his visits and prayers, they were much appreciated. For those who wish, donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
