Obituary of Elodie McGloin

The passing of Elodie Marie (Bourque) McGloin of Fredericton, NB, wife of Jim McGloin, occurred peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on January 1, 1946 in Rogersville, NB, she was the daughter of Mary Jane Bourque and the late Leo Bourque. She worked for the Provincial Government for 30 years. Elodie was very active in her church – Our Lady of Fatima. In addition to her mother and husband, Elodie is survived by her two sons, Jamie (Lise Poirier) of Moncton, NB and Mark (Janice Pollock) of Cornwall, PEI; special grandchildren, Kelti and Riley McGloin; sisters, Alma Morris of Champion, AB, Armandine Landry of Aldergrove, BC and Patricia Novinic (Ivan) of Sudbury, ON; brothers, Edgar Bourque (Lucy) of Fredericton, NB, Theodore Bourque (Kathryn) of Stanley, NB, Theophile Bourque of Grand Bay, NB and Tony Bourque of Salisbury, NB; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Parish on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11am with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be Don Shanks, Butch Bailey, Fred White, Bill Saunders, Terry Arnold and Kevin Bourque. Interment will take place in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
