Obituary of Marion Boyd

The passing of Marion Donna (Morrison) Boyd, wife of Willard Boyd, occurred Saturday January 14, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle. She was born on May 22, 1933 in Southampton to the late E. Ray and Margaret (Chapman) Morrison. Marion enjoyed life to the fullest and she was a fabulous homemaker. She loved to skate, swim, bike and travel. She especially enjoyed wintering in Florida for over 25 years. She made many friends and enjoyed all the activities that went along with living at Hunters Run, Zephryhills. She loved to sing and enjoyed being in the choir for many years at Devon Park Baptist Church where she was a member. Besides her husband of almost 56 years Willard Boyd, she is survived by their six children, Dana (Carol) Boyd, Jeff (Wandie) Boyd, Vicki (John) MacBean, Kevin (Daphne) Boyd all of Fredericton, Brent (Lynn) Boyd of Edmonton Alberta and Nadine (David) Smith also of Fredericton. In addition she was survived by her four sisters Nellie Corey, Shirley (Sherman) Yerxa, Lorna Shepherd and Carol (Gordon) Stairs. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren whom she adored. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her only brother Elmer Morrison. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 2pm with Rev Bob Dunlop officiating. Internment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Marion’s honour may be made to Devon Park Christian School, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
