Obituary of Marjorie Rice
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marjorie Elaine Rice of Royal Road, NB, wife of the late Frederic Rice on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 31, 1925 in Parker’s Ridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Maude (Spencer) MacLennan. She was a member of the Kingsley United Church, the Kingsley Silver Tops Seniors and the Kingsley Ladies Auxiliary.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Winston (Anna) Rice; daughter, Marilyn (Gary) Baird; grandsons, Joseph Baird and Kristin (Jamie) Rice; granddaughters, Andrea (Scott) Waddell and Amy (Darren) Barker; great grandchildren, Alec Baird, Katelyn and Joshua Barker, Colin, Jordan and Marlee Rice; sister, Beth Black; brother-in-law, Robert (Mary Jane) Rice; sister-in-law, Frances Miner and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Gertrude Moore, Jean MacBean, Sue Jackson, Estelle Shumway, Doris MacAweeney, Ruth Bonnar and Vivian O’Donnell.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday. January 18, 2012 at 10 am with Rev. Joanne Barr officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Marjorie’s grandchildren. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Seymour Memorial Cemetery Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
