Obituary of Eugene Douglas Brewer
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eugene Douglas “Doug” Brewer of Fredericton, NB, husband of Margaret (Morton) Brewer, on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 26, 1925 in Millville, NB, he was the son of the late Cornealious and Addie (Schriver) Brewer. Doug was a WWII veteran. He worked for New Brunswick Handicraft for 34 years plus. He enjoyed running cribbage tournaments, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Margaret of almost 64 years, Doug is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Earl) Hazllett and his son, Edward Brewer both of Fredericton, NB; granddaughter, Victoria (Stephen) Manson; great grandchildren, Noah and Laila Manson; chosen sister, Grace (Lenard) Hayward; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra Ann; an infant sister; chosen brother, Curtis Schiver.
Although there will be no visitation by Doug’s request; a private family graveside service will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to Dr. N. Shaheen for all the care she gave Doug; the nursing staff of 3SW, 4E and 4NW, Thank you for the care and compassion you showed Doug; you are angels sent by God.
