Obituary of John William Boyd

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John William “Bill” Boyd of Fredericton, NB, husband of Marlene (Blakney) Boyd, on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 30, 1931 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Thomas J. and Helen (Farrell) Boyd. He attended Fredericton High School, he then went to Business College and after graduating, in his early years, he worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia. Most of his remaining life was spent on the Miramichi with his father at Boyd’s Fishing Lodge and Tom Boyd’s Men’s Wear in the winter months. In addition to his wife, Bill leaves behind three children, Sharon (Randy) Thomas and their children, Breanne and Garret; Steven (Erin Grant) and their children, Ethan, Nathan and Madelyn; Susan (Jason MacArthur) and their children, Christopher, Benjamin and Samantha; niece, Wendy Maher-Thomas; cousins, Genevieve McKinney and Sally Jordan; many nieces and nephews and in laws. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Ryan. A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 2-4 pm; all are welcome for prayers at 3 pm.
