Obituary of John LeBlanc

It is with sadness that we wish to announce the passing of John Fintan LeBlanc of Keswick Ridge, NB on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 2, 1949 in St. John’s, NF, he was the son of the late John A. and Gertrude (Bartlett) LeBlanc. He worked with Solicitor General in Corrections and then with Public Safety as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer. John enjoyed woodworking, motorcycling and especially loved the ocean. In addition to his wife, Peggy Calvert-LeBlanc, John is survived by his sisters, Sharon Keough of Vancouver, BC and Janet Hurlburt of Yarmouth, NS; brother, Gerard LeBlanc of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews and life long best friend, David Shufelt. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 2 pm with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Private family interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (Palliative Care Unit).
