Obituary of Marion Peterson

The passing of Marion Lillian Peterson, wife of the late Byard Peterson, of Fredericton, occurred on Saturday, December 04, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 10, 1913 in Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late Charles Simcoe and Priscilla (Flowers) McLaughlin. Marion was a clerk at the Metropolitan Store. She was affiliated with Greenwood Drive Baptist Church and was also a member of Barkers Point Half-Century Club. Marion enjoyed Bingo and loved spending time with her family. Marion is survived by her daughter, Barbara Joan Hillman; sons, Max Peterson (Ellen), Richard Peterson (Debra); daughter in law, Viola Peterson; grandchildren, Derek Peterson, Wendy Bird, Lori Saunders, Linda Hillman, Cindy Cunningham, Patty Harris, Barbie Hillman, Jeffrey Peterson, Jamie Peterson, Luke Peterson and Jill Peterson; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Marion was predeceased by an infant daughter, Marilyn; sons, Jerome, Allen, Byard; sisters, Annie, Greta, Hazel, Dot and Gertie; brother, Burton McLaughlin and son in law, Neil Hillman. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home Ltd., 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, December 07, 2010 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 08, 2010 at 11 am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers for the service are: Jeffrey Peterson, Jamie Peterson, Luke Peterson and Derek Peterson. Interment will take place in the Marysville Baptist Extension Cemetery.
