Obituary of Anne Smith
Today we mourn the loss of one of the world’s most exceptional people, Anne Darlene Smith, born in Maitland Bridge, NS on August 23, 1939.
After years of overcoming the health challenges inflicted by 12 different Cancers, Anne died peacefully on Wednesday, December 08, 2010 in her apartment surrounded by the people who loved her.
Anne’s entire life was dedicated to giving of herself. She spent each day creating new ways to make others lives easier and more enjoyable. She was an inspiration to all who were blessed to have met her. Her drive, determination and strength helped many dig deep within themselves to find courage to fight their own battles.
Anne’s talents were abundant. She was blessed with an eye for detail and shared her creations freely through gifts of oil paintings and hand knit clothing. She loved gardening, watching birds out her front window, playing BEACH VOLLEYBALL by the hour with family and friends and simply enjoying life to the fullest.
The loss of this precious lady will be felt by ALL who knew her. Rest in peace sweet Mamma. We will miss you terribly but take comfort in knowing that you are now in God’s keeping. You will feel no more pain, you will no longer have to fight each day, you will now enjoy the peace and tranquility that you so deserve.
In respect of her wishes, there will be a private family service at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive. For others wishing to pay their respects, family invite you to join them at York Funeral Home on Monday, December 13, 2010 between the hours of 6-8 pm for an informal gathering to celebrate Anne’s life. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton Emergency Shelter. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
Our sincere appreciation goes out to all of those who have offered love and support during these past months. Without you, we never could have respected her wishes to remain at home until she passed.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she will be remembered by her children, Denise (Marcel) Ogon and their children, Brandon and Brianne; Richelle (Brad) Plumstead and their daughter, Morgan Smith; David Smith; siblings, twin brother, David (Leona) Cameron, Philip (Audrey) Cameron and Niel Cameron; several nephews and niece.
