Obituary of Helen Haines
The passing of Helen Gertrude Walker Haines nee Delong of Fredericton, NB wife of the late Donald Haines occurred on Friday, January 14, 2011 at home. Born on March 19, 1916 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Lena (Haines) Delong. Helen was a retired self employed hairdresser.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Donna Walker of St. George, NB and Colleen McAllen of Fredericton, NB; son, Melvin Walker (Margot) of Aylesford, NS; four grandchildren, Carol Dawne Carman (Emery), Michael McAllen, Marina Aucoin (Dennis) and Sandra Trail (Nathan); great grandchildren Chloe Aucoin and Dean Trail; brother, Lloyd Delong (Bonnie) of Fredericton, NB; brother-in-law, Douglas Kitchen of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and second husband, Helen was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Walker; sisters, Myrtle Clark, Irma Estey and Hazel Kitchen; brothers, Roland and Bill Delong.
Although there will be no visitation by request; a memorial service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday January 18, 2011at 2pm with Mr. Glenden Rae officiating. Interment will take place in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery at a later date.
