Obituary of Royden Jordan
With great sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Royden James Jordan of Fredericton, NB, husband of Judy (Matthews) Jordan which occurred on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 8, 1947 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Charles and Elva (McLean) Jordan. He worked for the Liquor Commission from 1980, until recently. Royden was a member of Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church. He was also a member of the Fredericton Legion Branch #4. Royden enjoyed hunting, attending yard sales and had a passion for collecting pocket watches and clocks. He especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Royden is survived by his sons, Kevin (Cindy) and Shawn (Tanya Boisvert); grandchildren, Candace, Nicholas, Zachary and Isabelle; great grandchild, McKenna; siblings, Joan Jewett (Emmerson), Ken Jordan (Paula), Bonnie Brewer (Malcolm), Debbie Kitchen (Marven), Wendy Clair (Scott) all of Fredericton, NB, Marilyn Wall (Roddy) of Dartmouth, NS, Carolyn Campbell, Wanda Carr (Keith) and Anna Marie Schriver (Allison) all of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Nancy Bowlen; brother-in-law, Billy Matthews; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Heather Jordan.
Visitation will take place at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place from the church on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. John Symonds officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
