Obituary of Lammechien Pot nee Nijboer
The death of Lammechien “Ena” Pot nee Nijboer wife of the late Hendrik Pot of Fredericton occurred suddenly at her home on Tuesday January 25, 2011. Ena went home to be with her Lord and Saviour and is safe in the arms of Jesus. Born in Holland in 1925, she was the daughter of the late Geert and Grietje (Kersten) Nijboer. Ena Pot was first of all a mother and homemaker. She spent many hours working on the farm with her husband. After moving from the farm she spent some years working as a home maker and on an egg farm. Henry and Ena Pot were a couple of the founding members of the Fredericton Christian Reformed Church, loved bowling and knitting. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family.
Ena is survived by four sons, Harry Pott (Evelyn) of Brockville, ON, Gerry Pot (Arja) of Keswick Ridge, NB, Peter Pott (Leza) of Burton, NB, and Hank Pott of Keswick Ridge, NB; four daughters, Margaret van Oord (Dirk) of Jewetts Mills, NB, Ena Hamming (Kees) of Charlottetown, PEI, Jane Woodworth (Dick) of Fredericton, NB, and Pam Pott of Fredericton, NB; 26 Grandchildren; 27 Great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Beside her parents and four brothers all of Holland she was predeceased by one infant daughter and two infant grand children.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Fredericton Christian Reformed Church, 121 McAdam Avenue, Fredericton, on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Harold A. Winter officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers will be some of the grandchildren.
