Obituary of Elizabeth MacDonald
Elizabeth Iva (Burke) MacDonald went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, at the age of 100. She was the wife of the late William “Dick” MacDonald. She was born in Darnley, PEI. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Douglas Avenue and then the Devon Park Baptist Church both of Fredericton, NB. Elizabeth was a secretary for SMT for twenty years.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, George MacDonald of Maugerville, NB and daughter, Wilma Fraser (Aulton) of Fredericton, NB; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Statts and Verna Besley; brother-in-law, Bill MacFarlane all of PEI; son-in-law, Earle Carpenter (Chow) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Elizabeth was predeceased by daughter, Joey E. L. Carpenter; daughter-in-law, Lori MacDonald; sisters, Marge Wheatley, Mary Harvey and Jean MacFarlane; brothers, Albert, Jack and Roy Gallant
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 1-2 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm with Rev. Bob Dunlop officiating. Interment will take place in Maugerville Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the York Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
