Obituary of Shirley ODonnell

The passing of Shirley Marie (Greene) O’Donnell, of Fredericton NB, occurred on February 4, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 22, 1936 in Blissfield NB, she was a daughter of Sylvia (Gillespie) Martell and the late William Greene. Shirley was retired from the Bank of Nova Scotia. She was very involved in volunteering her time with the Progressive Conservative Party and she enjoyed sewing and cooking. Besides her mother and her special friend, Paul Crabbe, Shirley is survived by her daughter, Theresa Horncastle (Kim) of Fredericton NB; grandchildren, Dustin Miner (Kim) of Burlington, ON, Lauren and Christy of Thunder Bay, ON; three great grandchildren; sister, June Greene of Moncton NB and Margaret Bamford of Boiestown NB; brother, George Greene (Rona) of Blissfield NB; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Tammy Glover; granddaughter, Laura and brother, Gilbert Greene. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 1 pm with Rev. Richard Bragdon officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Thomas United Church Cemetery, Blissfield at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
