Obituary of Lillian Smith
The passing of Lillian Mae Smith wife of Harry Smith occurred on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. Born on May 11, 1924 in Hainesville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Jane (Seymour) Hanson. Lillian was a member of the Sunset Church, her love for the Lord was always evident. She also lived for her family; she had a very special relationship with her grandchildren and her sisters. In later years Lillian and her husband had another baby, a Pomeranian which she dearly loved and named Baby.
In addition to her husband Lillian is survived by her children Billy (Edie) Smith of Nashwaak Village, NB, Nancy (Guy) Lafranchise of Fredericton, NB, Bob (Dawnna) Smith of Fredericton, NB, Shyanne (Lloyd) Pangburn of Davidson Lake, NB, and Rick (Cathy) Smith of Fredericton, NB; four sisters Rowena Estey of Nashwaak Village, NB, Evelyn (Lloyd) Waugh of Douglas, NB, Jean (Don) Gruchy of Silverwood, NB and Yvonne Billings of Crabbe Mountain, NB; 13 grandchildren Vicki, Darren, Katie, Dylan, Karen, David, Brent, Penny, Shyanna, Darren, Jason, Kelly and Brad; three great grandchildren Mathew, Jordan and Logan, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by a brother Douglas Hanson and sisters Beatrice Johnston, Marina Brown, Helen Bird, Carolyn Brewer, Dorthy McCann, Pauline Godsoe and infant sister Ileen.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Sunset Church on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Joseph Beesley officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Cemetery Ext. at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
