Obituary of Lillian Bishop
The passing of Lillian Jean Bishop, wife of the late Gerald Frank Bishop occurred on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 13, 1928 in Canterbury, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Hartin) Irvine. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking. She also loved birds. Lillian had a very special relationship with her grandson, Zackary.
Lillian is survived by her sons, David (Amilda) Bishop of Burnt Church, NB, James Bishop of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Barbara Bishop (Robert) of Fredericton, NB; special grandson, Zackary Bishop; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Lillian was predeceased by one infant daughter, Wendy Jean; sister, Noreen Bateman and brothers, Edwin, Charles and Robert.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 12 - 2 pm followed by a funeral service at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in the Sunny Bank Cemetery, Magaguadavic, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
