Obituary of Glenwood Thomas

The passing of Glenwood Evans Thomas of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 5, 1927 in Cardigan, NB, he was the son of the late William and Hazel (Evans) Thomas. Glenwood retired as a truck driver from Wendell Thomas and Sons. Glenwood is survived by his daughter, Christine Noel (Bob) of Fredericton, NB; granddaughters, Sarah and Shauna Noel both of Fredericton, NB; sister, Elizabeth Thomas of Cardigan, NB; brother, Wendell Thomas (Theresa) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins and special friend, Pearle Gorman. Besides his parents, Glenwood was predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor Thomas and second wife, Eloise (Harris) Thomas and sister, Shirley Thomas. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 2 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis DLM officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place in North Cardigan United Church Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Canadian Diabetes Association or the North Cardigan United Church Cemetery Fund.
