Obituary of Lois Wellwood
The passing of Lois Jeanette (O’Donnell) Wellwood, wife of the late Murray “Bub” Wellwood, of Carroll’s Crossing, occurred on September 27, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 17, 1932 in Carroll’s Crossing, she was a daughter of the late Keyes and Hazel (Amos) O’Donnell. Lois was a member of Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Wellwood (John) of Carroll’s Crossing; four sons, Hughie (Jeanette), Keyes, Buddie and Paul (Dixie) Wellwood all of Carroll’s Crossing; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Flora O’Donnell of Boiestown and Theoda Stewart of McNamee; two brothers, Richard K. O’Donnell of Doaktown and Amos O’Donnell (Marie) of Brandon, MB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Floyd O’Donnell.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. Jackson Willett officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to CNIB, Canadian Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
