Obituary of Velma Clowater

The passing of Velma Clowater, wife of the late Hersey Clowater, originally of Hayesville, NB occurred on January 13, 2010 at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home in Boiestown, NB. Born on November 5, 1915, Velma was a daughter of the late Howard and Vesta (Pond) MacKay. Velma is survived by her son, Jerry (Cheryl) Clowater of Saint John, NB; her daughter, Susan (Derek) Baker, of Calgary, AB; three grandchildren, Jamie and Justin Clowater and Troy Baker; two brothers, Wes (Roberta) and Bill (Joan), both of Hayesville, NB; sisters, Eva Stewart of Hayesville, NB and Marie Clowater of Charlottesville, VA; and sisters-in-law, Maizie MacKay, Sylvia MacKay, both of Hayesville, NB and Ellen MacKay of Boiestown, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Velma was predeceased by four brothers Dale, Hardy, Bert and Theodore MacKay; two sisters, Pearl Sansom and Bernice MacKay; and a granddaughter Kristen Baker. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday from the Boiestown United Church at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Beverly Daley officiating. Interment will take place in the Bloomfield Ridge United Church Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Boiestown United Church and would be appreciated by the family.
