Obituary of Yvonne Bruce

The passing of Yvonne Alice Bruce of Boiestown, NB, wife of the late Hugh Bruce occurred on Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 13, 1929 in Porter Cove, NB, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Alberta (MacKay) Hovey. Yvonne was employed at the Daily Gleaner for 18 years. She was a member of the St. James Anglican Church, Ludlow, NB and was an associate member of the Boiestown Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 78, an Avon Representative for a number of years, a member of FFSA of Fredericton and Oromocto and was an avid reader. Yvonne is survived by her daughters, Norma (Kendall) Doak of Boiestown, NB and Constance Bruce of Boiestown, NB; grandchildren, Benjamin Brown and Kristy Doak; great grandson, Kian Weaver of Boiestown, NB; son-in-law, Pat Brown of Mississauga, ON; sisters, Madeline McCloskey and Norma Hovey both of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Duane (Lois) Hovey and Guy (Linda) Hovey both of Porter Cove, NB; several nieces and nephews; good friend, Bill Gaston of Doaktown, NB. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Nikki Doak; sisters, Freda Trochimchuk, Sheila McCallum and Inez Nagle; brothers, Malcolm, Ernest, Hudson, Ivan and Audrey Hovey. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Monday, July 19, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at St. James Anglican Church on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 2pm with Rev. Arnold Godsoe officiating. A Private Family interment will take place in Parker’s Ridge Cemetery at a late date. No flowers by request, for those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
