Obituary of Paulina Rompelman

Peace at last after a long and frustrating battle with Alzheimer disease. The passing of Paulina occurred on December 9, 2019 at York Care Centre. Paulina was born on Sept. 11, 1930 in The Hague, The Netherlands. She was my lovely wife, a wonderful human being, the very responsible mother of our daughter Lilian and much more than my best friend. She was my irreplaceable soul mate for 59 years and the missing piece of the puzzle, what we both had been searching for when we met. Paulina's strong realistic and positive beliefs in quality and justice, and her support when needed, made our marriage a success. Her many volunteering contributions became for me, not only wonderful examples, but also beautiful memories. Even death will never do us part. I love you forever! Thank you so much, PAULINA, for being my wife. We miss you Mom. We miss you Mama. Paulina is survived by her husband, Hendrik Rompelman; daughter, Lilian Rompelman-Ketch (husband Parker Ketch); granddaughter, Jessica Ketch, grandson, Matthew Ketch (Robin LaPointe) and 3 great grand children Jaxon, Raynor and Harleen. In the NETHERLANDS: Paulina is survived by her brother Cornelis Snoep and his wife Belia Snoep-Gardien, niece Esther Snoep, and nephew Edwin Snoep (Pauline and Victor). Paulina was predeceased by her parents, Pieter de Ruiter and Cornelia Johanna van der Pol. Our absolute thanks to the dedicated staff of York Care Centre, Tower 2 for the excellent care Paulina has received over the years. To honour Paulina’s personal written request, following her cremation, there will be no funeral services. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 2-4 pm. Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Zoveel herinneringen zoveel meegemaakt een voor een verdwenen langzaam weggevaagd. For those who wish, a memorial tribute to the Alzheimer’s Society and/or York Care Centre, would be much appreciated by the family. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
