Obituary of Weldon Lawrence

Weldon Basil Lawrence, 75 of Maugerville, NB, son of the late Ervine and Doris (Lindsay) Lawrence passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Weldon was a retired employee of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital; he worked as a plumber in the Maintenance Department; prior to that position, Weldon worked at Capital Co-Operative and Irving Oil Ltd. as a Burner Service Mechanic. Weldon is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Brenda (Richardson); daughter, LaVonna (Darren) Anderson; son, Waldo (Mary-Beth); granddaughters, Lindsay (Jillian) Anderson-Coughlin, Samantha Anderson, KJ and Jorja Lawrence; grandson, Mack Anderson; great granddaughter, Harper Coughlin; he also leaves behind his sisters, Wanetta (John) Boone, Roberta (Dale) Webber, Bertha (Allan) Palmer, Leota (Brian) Sarchfield and Donna (Dennis) Grace; mother in law, Barbara Richardson; sisters in law, Juanita (Brian) Nicholson and Patricia Richardson; brothers in law, Richard (Sharon) Richardson, Ronald and Phillip Richardson; as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers, friends and his Maugerville Church family. Born in Cloverdale, NB, Weldon was predeceased by his parents; sister, Linda Ross; father in law, Paul Richardson and brother in law, Burton Richardson. Weldon had a unique ability to make friends where ever he went. His smile was his trademark and his teasing nature will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, August 5, 2019 from 6-9 pm. The Memorial Service will take place at Maugerville Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Neville Gosman officiating and Rev. Steven Urquhart assisting. Interment will take place Maugerville Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Weldon’s family asks that donations be given to the Maugerville Baptist Church, the Maugerville Cemetery Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
