Obituary of Grace Maddox
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Grace Maddox after a courageous battle with cancer. Grace was born in Woodstock, NB on October 20, 1952. She was the daughter of Paul B. Maddox and Constance (McIntyre) Maddox.
Grace was predeceased by her parents and her beloved poodle Teddy. She is survived by her siblings, Anne-Marie Maddox of Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, Jean Walters (Barry Chivers) of Ottawa, ON, James Maddox (Beth) of Toronto, ON, Connie Maddox-Campbell (Dan) of Fredericton, NB, and Angela Maddox-Branscombe (Daryl) of Fredericton, NB; her nieces and nephews, Shane Walters (Kasi), Dylan Walters (Jamie), Mitchell, Christopher, Luke (Jodie) and Alexa Campbell, Jaymie and Kaitlyn Maddox; great-nephews, Griffin, Odin, Fitz and Jackson.
Grace graduated from Woodstock High School, Dalhousie University (BA, BEd) and obtained her Master’s in Business Administration at Queen’s University. Grace began her professional career in marketing/advertising in Toronto. She later established her own marketing/consulting company. Upon retirement in 2010 she returned to New Brunswick.
Over the years, Grace volunteered for several organizations including the board of directors of Canadian Cancer Society, Epilepsy Association of Metro Toronto and Trillium Children’s Foundation/Camp Trillium. She also volunteered in Honduras and several organizations in Fredericton. Grace enjoyed travelling the world, playing duplicate bridge, and spending her summers at First Eel River Lake where she enjoyed gardening.
There will be no visitation as requested. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11 am at St. Dunstan’s Church in Fredericton. Father Bill Brennan will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date. If desired, donations to the NB Cancer Society would be appreciated. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
