Obituary of Neva Ryan

The passing of Neva Ruth Ryan of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Walter “Butch” Ryan occurred on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Hospice House. Born on July 17, 1938 in Lower South Hampton, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Laura (Ebbett) Culliton. She worked for many years for Dr. Donnie Feeney Dental Clinic. Neva was a Sorority Member and Past President of Beta Master Chapter - Beta Sigma Phi. Neva was very active and enjoyed many outdoor activities. She took pleasure in golfing and was a long term member of Gilridge Golf Club; she also liked bowling. She relished a good game of Skip Bo. Neva travelled extensively and visited areas such as Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, as well as a Baltic cruise. She will be greatly missed by her special friend, Tom Arnold; his son, Danny and daughter in law, Bobbi Jo. She will also be missed by her sorority sisters and many lifelong friends. Neva is survived by her daughter, Nancy Clements (Pat); sons, Kevin Ryan (Nicole) and Michael Ryan (Tina); grandchildren, Anton and Jory Ryan, Daniel, Sara and Noah Clements; sisters, Annie Walker (Late Allen), Vera Lawrence (Late Jim) and Helene Grey (Clarence); brother, Jack Culliton (Mary Ann); brother in law, Jim Ryan (Mary); several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Neva was predeceased by her brothers, Darrell Culliton (Helen) and Charles Culliton (Lois). As well, Neva’s beloved Golden Retriever Kaleigh passed away in 2004. There will be a Memorial Service at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating. Interment will take place in Hermitage Cemetery.
