Obituary of Fraetha Lavigne
The passing of Fraetha Joyce Lavigne, wife of the late Joseph “Eddy” Elois Lavigne, occurred on Friday, March 01, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 11, 1942 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Garnet and Marjorie (Ryder) Harvey. Fraetha was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church and the Silver Tops Seniors Group on the Kingsley Road. She loved her family gatherings and get-togethers. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening, and going to bluegrass events.
Fraetha is survived by her daughters, Christine Currie, Lauretta Lavigne (Steven), Joanne Wilson (Michael), and Doreen McGuire (Mike); sons, Roger Lavigne (Joan), James Lavigne (Susan) and Rickey Lavigne (Kathy); grandchildren, Bud (Katie), Rachael (Andrew), Terry (Laura), Jandi (Brad), Jody (Mike), Todd (Stephanie), Misty (Travis), Jessie, Jordan, Sandy (Jamie), Randy, Robert (Sarah), Tyler (Olivia), Kendall (Ryan), Marley (Teagan), Mitch (Toni), Alex and Josie; 24 great grandchildren; uncle, Melvin Crouse; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Fraetha was predeceased by her son-in-law, Alonzo Currie and brothers, Kenneth and Ernest Harvey.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 06, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr. Fredericton, NB. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 07, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating.
